It should nevertheless be noted that in all but a few cases these virtues belong specifically to green and semi-black teas. Black tea, in the course of being fully oxidized, has been subjected to a process that reduces some of its health-giving properties. Additionally, as ancient Chinese medical claims or "traditions" evolved, Green Teas were the predominant form of tea consumed and it therefore follows that the claims were specific to that style or manufacturing process.
